I think I am going to make some mistakes when I describe this but here goes. I believe that the Thompsons at risk bought a parcel of casks of spirit drink (whisky that had dropped below 40%ABV so could no longer be called whisky), I think this had dropped to around 32-34%ABV. They tried it, thought that it had great flavour compounds and aromatics but that it was lacking body, so they decided to blend it together with cask 0 of Dornoch spirit. Bottled at 40.1%ABV.
